Business Outlook 2012: What’s in store for hospitality? Restaurants, hotels and pubs had mixed fortunes in 2011, with all three hospitality sectors suffering a decline in property prices. But there is hope on the horizon, with the potential for an increase in opportunities and transactions in 2012.

Hospitality businesses neglect the over-65s

The report by Barclays Corporate found that 88% of 160 senior executives surveyed said they were engaged with the over-65s market, but almost two thirds (62%) admitted that they did not tailor any services or products to this age group.

Min pricing-Trial period request for Scotland

The Scottish Beer and Pub Association (SBPA) has called for the Scottish Parliament to include a trial period as a provision in the minimum pricing bill, if it goes ahead.
